Top 5 Reasons to Stay in a San Antonio, TX RV Campground

If you’re considering a trip to San Antonio, TX, you probably have a lot of things on your mental to-do list. Finding a place to stay is one of the most important tasks. But we’d like to take this opportunity to suggest a potential lodging option you may not have considered: staying at an RV campground.

Obviously, in order to stay at an RV camp, you need to have an RV. But as long as you have one, you should take full advantage of it. Here are the top five reasons why you should stay in an RV park the next time you come to San Antonio.

  1. You’ll skip the insanity of the airport.

Between endless (and sometimes invasive) security checks, flight delays, and uncomfortable airplane seats, the hassles of flying add up quickly. If you drive to San Antonio in an RV, you can enjoy a comfortable seat, no security madness, and the freedom of the open road.

  1. You can enjoy all the comforts of home – and more!

While we can’t speak for all RV parks, here at Greentree Village, we have cable TV, high-speed Wi-Fi, a full-service laundry room, fitness center, and more! Plus, we have 64 full hookup pull-through sites, so you can make sure your RV is fully powered through your stay.

  1. Fido can come, too!

Many RV camps are pet friendly. Greentree Village certainly is! Hotels, however, are another story. And many airports and airlines may make it difficult for you to bring your pet on the plane.

  1. It’s surprisingly affordable and easy to plan.

Other RV campgrounds might be a little different, but here is how we run things at Greentree Village: our rates are the same no matter when you come to visit us. Hotel rates vary wildly based on when you’re coming and when you book your trip. Plus, our rates are very affordable. For a nightly stay, you pay just $45 for accommodation for 2 people (additional guests are $2/person/night). The longer you stay, the less you pay per night. A week’s stay is only $225 ($32.15/night) and a month’s $480 ($15.49-$17.15/night, depending on the length of the month).

  1. You are the master of your vacation.

When you fly or stay at a hotel, you generally have to have your plans made well in advance and stick to them conscientiously. When you travel by RV, you can be much more flexible. Changing flights can be expensive, but if your travel plans change when you travel by RV, all you have to do is get in the RV and drive. At Greentree Village, we are also very willing to work to accommodate you should your travel plans change.

Those are our top reasons to enjoy a stay on an RV campground. Do you have any other reasons? If so, we’d love to hear about them. Let us know when you reserve your stay, or leave a comment on this post today!"

When you bought your RV, you probably relished the freedom of the open road and the ability to go where you wanted, when you wanted. But the euphoria only lasted until you pulled into your first substandard campground. RV campsites that don’t have the right amenities can easily ruin a vacation!

However, you live and learn – and Greentree Village is here to help. We’ve assembled a list of some of the amenities you should look for when you’re comparing RV campsites. If an RV campground doesn’t have most or all of these amenities, steer clear!

Essential Amenities

These amenities are the bare minimum for a fun and enjoyable stay.

Full Hookups: Today’s RVs come with electric service, water, and so much more. The best way to take advantage of all your RV has to offer is to choose a campground with full hookups. Otherwise, why did you pay for all those features?

Laundry Facilities: An RV can fit a lot more clothes than, say, a carry-on bag, but you still can’t bring your entire wardrobe along. Onsite laundry facilities are a must, so you can take advantage of your down time and get laundry out of the way. (Plus, it’ll be one less thing to worry about when you get home.)

Pet Friendly: If you plan to bring your furry friend along for the trip, finding a pet-friendly RV campground is a must!

Wi-Fi: These days, life simply moves too fast to go “off the grid” for an extended period of time. You don’t want to be using precious data to upload your vacation pictures or check in with friends and family. Find an RV campsite where the Wi-Fi is included.

Awesome Amenities

These amenities aren’t necessary, especially if you’re only staying at a campground for a night or two, but they can certainly make a trip a lot more fun.

Clubhouse/Entertainment Center: Stay too long in your RV, and you’re bound to get cabin fever. The best RV campsites have a clubhouse where guests can relax, watch TV, play games, and more.

Swimming Pool: If you’re traveling in the summer, the more ways to beat the heat, the better! A swimming pool can be the great place to relax at the end of a busy day or tire out the kids so they’ll sleep well.

Fitness Center: Your exercise regimen shouldn’t suffer while you’re on vacation (especially if you’re enjoying vacation foods you wouldn’t normally eat). A fitness center can help you keep in shape even while you’re away from home.

Cable TV: Let’s say you pull into the RV campground and it’s pouring rain. Now what? Turn on the cable TV, and at least you’ll be entertained while you’re stuck inside.

Convenience Store: The fewer places you have to pull your RV into and out of, the better. An onsite convenience store can help you stock up on those essential items without having to leave the campground.

Area Attractions: Planning to stay awhile? Then you’ll want to explore the area! Find a campsite near some of the best places in the area to make the most of every minute of your trip.

If you’re wondering where you can stay in the San Antonio, TX area that has all of these amenities, relax. Greentree Village is the RV campground to pick. We have all of the amenities listed here, plus friendly service and great rates. Call us today to book your stay!
